Looking for Love, Finding Symmetry

A kinetic sculpture about surprising properties emerging from relative motion. Each of the individual arms is driven at 1 RPM relative to its next inner neighbor. In turn, each arm drives its next outer neighbor at 1 RPM, relative to itself. The net result of all these identical actors is an emergent and complex action of the whole. The arms find all possible symmetries of the 4 elements in 1 minute.
