A flock of starlings follow certain rules in flight. The result is mesmerizing patterns created by hundreds of individual birds working together. This sculpture is a mechanical abstraction of the same rules followed by starlings, creating patterns that seldom repeat. Construction required a minor festival of trigonometry, and was a lot of fun.
